Athletic Training

Chris Ross and Shana Hogg consistently strive to exceed their client’s expectations.  Every person is much different than the next and an individualized approach is imperative. We believe training is about much more than counting reps or yelling at someone to work harder, but more about connecting with people, empowering them, keeping them motivated, and working out at an effective level to achieve their goals.

Exercise Program Design

Our goal is to design an exercise program specifically designed to meet your goals, needs, and ability level. Our approach to program design is based on fundamental anatomical, physiological, and biomechanical principles. Whether you are looking for a program to drop 20 pounds or just loosen up tight muscles, we have a plan that is going to work for you. Start working out more efficiently and get the results you deserve.

Cardio Programs

Cardiovascular (aerobic) exercise is one of the most important forms of exercise for the human body. Unfortunately, most Americans are not receiving close to enough cardiovascular exercise. Cardiovascular disease for many years has been the biggest contributor to mortality in the United States. The benefits of cardiovascular exercise are well documented and plentiful. Some of the benefits of a cardiovascular program include:

  • Increased muscular function and capacity (especially the heart)
  • Decreased body fat concentration
  • Increased energy levels
  • Greater sense of well-being and a decrease in anxiety and depression.
  • Decreased LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) and increased levels of HDL cholesterol (good ch0lesterol)
  • Lowered blood pressure, <
  • Cardiovascular fitness protects the body against a host of diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, stroke, hypertension, diabetes, and osteoporosis.

Weight-Loss Specific Workout Programs

Is losing weight a major goal for you? Are you working out faithfully and still not losing any weight? While diet is a major contributor to weight loss, exercising the right way is also an important factor. Many people simply do not understand the variables that contribute to weight loss. While I once weighed as much as 240 lbs and struggled for years with my weight, for the last four years my weight has not fluctuated more than ten pounds. For me that is a minor miracle. Through the years I have learned some keys in keeping my weight consistent. These fundamentals are key and are a major factor in my program design for you.

Dedication To Consistent Exercise

  • Dietary Balance- Food Is Not The Enemy
  • Building Muscle For Increased Metabolism
  • Stress Reduction
  • Getting Enough Sleep
  • Staying Hydrated

These are all keys in losing and maintaining weight loss. While some of these variables are proven more important than others all these variables contribute greatly to facilitating weight loss.

Functional Fitness Workout Programs

What good is having the sexiest biceps in town if you can't scramble up the stairs with ease, run for a bus without knee pain, or pick up your golf ball without wrenching your back? At Fluid Motion Fitness we have the knowledge and expertise to provide you with a customized functional training workout program. The terms functional fitness and functional exercises are the latest gym buzzwords. They focus on building a body capable of doing real-life activities in real-life positions, not just lifting a certain amount of weight in an idealized posture created by a gym machine.

Emphasizing the importance of functional training, "Conventional weight training isolates muscle groups, but it doesn't teach the muscle groups you're isolating to work with others," says Greg Roskopf, MS, a biomechanics consultant with a company called Muscle Activation Techniques who has worked with athletes from the Denver Broncos, the Denver Nuggets, and the Utah Jazz.

“The key to functional exercise is integration and teaching the entire body to work together. It's about teaching all the muscles to work as a unit rather than isolating them to work independently. This style of workout produces a body that is strong, flexible, and athletic."

Flexibility Programs

Sretching is a frequently overlooked component of many conditioning programs. Flexibility exercises are designed to elongate the soft tissues of the body. Stretching has several benefits, including: injury prevention, enhanced performance, improved joint range of motion, and decreased muscle soreness after strenuous exercise. Static, dynamic, and functional stretches will be customized to your specific needs, sport specificity and postural needs.
