Fluid Motion

Why are we different?

Fluid Motion Golf and Fitness is a leader in the golf and fitness industry. As a Certified Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Fitness Instructor, a bearer of numerous certifications, and holder of dual health-related college degrees, Chris Ross is a professional fitness consultant who has the education, experience, and expertise to help you take your body to the next level.

At Fluid Motion Golf and Fitness, we believe in a customized approach to training. Unlike many other facilities, we provide each of our clients with an individualized workout program, designed for their particular needs, abilities, and limitations. At FMGF we take great measures to ensure that each client receives a customized plan that works for him or her. Because no two bodies and no two fitness goals are identical – no two Fluid Motion workouts are the same.

While many training programs claim to be golf specific, few compare to the degree of expertise and technology found at Fluid Motion. Our relationship with Titleist ensures that our clientele receives the most innovative and well-researched golf specific workout information available.

Our advanced 3-d system

Our 3-dimensional biomechanical analysis system is one of the most advanced training tools used to eliminate swing faults and correct postural issues throughout the golf swing. Fluid Motion uses the same system found at premier golf-specific training facilities such as the Titleist Performance Institute.   This system is designed to identify any power leaks in your golf swing as your body moves through the kinematic sequence and provides accurate quantitative data that will show us the weak links in your swing.

With our 3-d system we can view your swing from an infinite number of angles and positions and analyze postural and positional data frame-by frame throughout the golf swing. This information generates a graph of the  kinematic sequence of your swing – in other words, by measuring timing and speed, it shows the way in which your body generates energy as you swing the club.

Kinematic sequencing – the key to your swing

The graph of your kinematic sequence shows the speed, timing, rotation, and positional relationship between the pelvis, lower body, arms and club. This information is then presented as a spreadsheet showing the position, amount of rotation, and movement of your body segments throughout your golf swing. Your data is also compared with that of elite players, so we can address any components of your swing that need work.

Your 11-page report

Upon completion of your 3-d biomechanical analysis, this information is compiled in an eleven page report that includes a complete explanation of the key factors in your swing including: rotational speed gains and sequencing, maximum club rotational speed, wrist set angle, x-factor stretch, tempo, and posture at address, at the top of the back swing, at impact, and at finish.

Functional screening

We combine the information from your 3-d analysis with data from a 20-point functional movement screen that will identify any issues with strength, mobility, stability, and flexibility. When we test your functional movement and combine this information with your 3-d analysis we will know not only where your body breaks down throughout the swing, but why. This physical screen is incredibly important because it helps us develop a workout program that will address what your body needs in order to play better golf.
